On the morning of the twenty-third, beneath the open sky of Ita-Esure
Square, two chieftaincy titles were conferred. Prince Olúfémí Alákijà,
Asiwájú of Ikìjà-Ìjèbú, and Dr (Mrs) Èbùnolúwa Alákijà, his Yèyé Asiwájú,
received the titles of Otunba Akinrogun and Yèyé Oge of Esure.
What began in ceremony and morning light continued that evening, in
celebration.
A moment of ceremony, witnessed in the presence of the kingdom.
Before family, dignitaries, and the people of Esure, tradition took its place in the present — marking an occasion of honour, continuity, and distinction.
